Burgundy restaurant

Burgundy is a renowned restaurant and wine seller located in Beirut. On their tenth anniversary, they asked me to redesign their entire visual identity to strengthen their position in the city’s fine dining scene.

To better understand what made Burgundy and the dining experience there exceptional, I spent time with the entire team, including the chef, hosts, and founders. The design process was thorough and involved incorporating local craftsmanship, a natural approach to photography, and a timeless brand that would stand the test of time.

Marco Pinarelli shot all the photos.

The photography for the Burgundy visual identity project focused on highlighting the people who make the restaurant and wine shop exceptional. The goal was to capture each person in their own unique way and showcase the human element of the business. This approach helped to convey the personal touch and attention to detail that are central to the Burgundy experience.

The menus were handmade by local artisans. We developed a colour coding system to distinguish between the different types of menus and designed a unique magnetic clamp mechanism to hold the paper in place. This approach helped to add a personal touch and a sense of craftsmanship to the dining experience.

A pattern inspired by bottlenecks and wine flow was used across touchpoints and colourful stickers for packaging and wrapping.

The website was designed and developed by Vit-e.
